Accelerating its innovative presence in the hybrid motorcycle market, Kawasaki follows the global launch of the groundbreaking Ninja 7 Hybrid with the introduction of the Z 7 Hybrid. Unveiling cutting-edge technology, this naked-style bike is effectively three machines in one, seamlessly blending electric power, hybrid, and internal combustion technologies.

Sharing the same revolutionary features as its fully faired counterpart, the 2024 Z7 Hybrid boasts a powerful combination of a 43.5 kW max power 451cc water-cooled four-stroke twin-cylinder internal combustion engine and a 9 kW maximum-rated electric traction motor. Positioned as the most technically advanced Z model to date, it is primed for urban, suburban, and countryside challenges, always ready for more.

Demonstrating its robust hybrid capabilities, the Z7 Hybrid offers three distinct operating modes. In full EV mode with automatic transmission, the bike is tailored for zero-emission zones, cruising up to 12 kilometers on electric power alone before seamlessly transitioning to the internal combustion engine to recharge the battery. Operating in Eco-Hybrid mode, the electric motor collaborates with the internal combustion engine, providing a versatile solution with a choice between a six-speed automatic transmission or manual gear selection via convenient paddles on the left handlebar, eliminating the need for a clutch lever. A user-friendly “walk mode” aids in maneuvering and parking, along with a selectable auto engine stop at standstill, aligning with modern automotive trends.

Sport mode unleashes the Z7 Hybrid’s full performance potential, engaging both the electric and gasoline motors. An “E-Boost” function, activated through a paddle switch on the right handlebar, harnesses maximum power for an exhilarating five-second burst, delivering litre-class acceleration from a standstill and impressive thrust while riding. Achieving fuel economy comparable to the 250cc class category, the Z7 Hybrid seamlessly combines high performance with efficiency, poised to redefine expectations.

Built on the same trellis-type chassis and running gear as the Ninja 7 Hybrid, the ‘Sugomi’-styled Z7 Hybrid presents a bold addition to the naked class sector, doubling Kawasaki’s Strong Hybrid offerings in the market. Anticipated to be available in Spring 2024, the Z 7 Hybrid positions Kawasaki at the forefront of the ever-evolving landscape of powered-two-wheeler technology.
